GPS coordinates are collected once per minute when the vehicle is in motion. Fleet managers can track a vehicle's current location or view a breadcrumb trail of the vehicle's location history.
KeepTruckin gives you real-time visibility into your fleet with GPS location tracking. Fleet managers can track their vehicles without having to call drivers, increasing productivity and reducing human error.

How It Works
You can view your drivers' current locations on an interactive map.
You can view location history for any driver or vehicle to find out exactly where they were anytime in the past.
How often are GPS coordinates collected?
What are the requirements for real-time vehicle location tracking?
To track a vehicle in real-time, the driver's mobile device must be connected to the ELD via Bluetooth and the mobile device must be connected to the Internet continuously.
Can I keep track of my vehicles even when a driver isn't connected to the ELD?
If a driver breaks the Bluetooth connection between the KeepTruckin Electronic Logbook App and KeepTruckin ELD, you will not be able to see where the vehicle is in real-time. However, the ELD will continue to collect GPS and vehicle data. Once the ELD connects via Bluetooth to an Internet-connected KeepTruckin Electronic Logbook App, this data will be available on the KeepTruckin Dashboard.
What is the difference between a vehicle's location history and a driver's location history?
Vehicle locations are recorded by the KeepTruckin ELD, which is equipped with a GPS chip inside the device. When the vehicle is in motion, GPS coordinates are collected once per minute.
Driver locations are shown independent of vehicle locations. A driver does not have to be driving a vehicle with an ELD for their location history to be recorded. GPS coordinates are collected by the driver's mobile device in the background when the driver's duty status is set to Driving or On Duty. Fleet managers will not be able to track their driver's locations when drivers are Off Duty or in Sleeper. Since driver locations come from the driver's mobile device, the accuracy and frequency of the data varies.
How far back can I view location history?
KeepTruckin will never delete your data. All location history data for drivers and vehicles is stored on KeepTruckin servers and is backed up multiple times across multiple data centers. Fleet managers will always be able to access location history data for the duration that the driver was using the KeepTruckin App and for the duration that the KeepTruckin ELD was installed in the vehicle.
