When a vehicle is stationary with the engine running for over 10 seconds we track an idling event.
Idle Time Tracking
KeepTruckin helps you reduce fuel costs by tracking the amount of time your vehicles spend idling. Fleet managers can view idle time and utilization rates for each vehicle and compare performance across drivers or terminal groups.
- Reduce fuel costs by tracking excessive idling.
- Identify drivers who consistently idle too frequently or for too long.
- Compare utilization rates across vehicles to determine where idling time can be minimized.
How It Works
You can view a summary of idling time for any driver and compare against the fleet average.
You can run reports to view details for each idling event including driver name, location, duration and the amount of fuel consumed.
You can rank drivers by utilization rate to see who idles the least and who needs coaching.
How long does the vehicle need to idle before for an idling event is recognized?
What other idling reports can I get?
You can get idling summary reports for the whole fleet, or broken out by group.
What about Power Take Off (PTO) usage?
We plan to build support for PTO usage in the future.
What data is available on idling events?
KeepTruckin tracks start time, duration, location, and fuel consumed.
How do you know which driver is responsible for idling?
Idling time that is ended by the engine being turned off is assigned to the driver that last used the vehicle. Idling time that is ended by the vehicle moving is assigned to the driver that moved the vehicle.
