KeepTruckin CEO Shoaib Makani named a top 50 SaaS CEO for 2021

KeepTruckin CEO and co-founder Shoaib Makani has been recognized as a Top 50 SaaS CEO for 2021 by TheSoftware Report, a comprehensive source for market research and insights in the software sector. This year’s honorees represent some of the largest, fastest-growing, and innovative software companies driving the industry forward. They operate in spaces as diverse as banking technology, IT automation, and robotic surgery.

Collectively, the Top 50 SaaS CEOs were acknowledged for their skill in cultivating a sound work environment that promotes fairness, diversity, and inclusion. Diversity is a driving force of the culture Shoaib helped build when he, and his co-founders, launched KeepTruckin in 2013. Eight years later, the company’s culture remains rooted in the belief that “great people beget great companies.”

As in years past, this year’s honorees were selected based on thousands of nomination submissions from colleagues and peers in the software industry. Shoaib’s place at No. 2 in the rankings reflects the quality of the nominations submitted on his behalf, and the overall growth and market share KeepTruckin has achieved under his leadership.

Today, KeepTruckin’s 400,000-strong network of connected vehicles, ranging from small trucking companies to Fortune 500 enterprises, is among the largest in North America. KeepTruckin’s products deliver integrated value for a diverse range of industries, from construction and oil and gas to distribution and moving and storage. At every turn, KeepTruckin provides cutting-edge hardware and software that leverages the latest advancements in AI and computer vision to solve a broad range of problems for businesses.

In positioning KeepTruckin at the top of its list, The Software Report recognizes the company as a leader in all these spaces — including technology, transportation, and artificial intelligence.

Here’s a look at a few recent KeepTruckin milestones:

AI Dashcam product release. Driver safety is more important than ever for the fleets that power our economy. Insurance costs, collisions, and nuclear verdicts are all on the rise. In this new landscape, running a safe fleet has never been more critical to the health and success of a business. With the release of the new AI Dashcam, KeepTruckin is transforming driver and fleet safety. Powered by industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision, the AI Dashcam takes a proactive approach to road safety that helps prevent accidents, improve driving performance, and reduce costs.

Forbes Cloud 100. In August, KeepTruckin was named to the Forbes Cloud 100 list for the fourth consecutive year. The list spotlights the top private cloud companies shaping the industry today and is awarded to companies who are reimagining what’s possible through the use of cloud technology.

KeepTruckin’s appearance on the Forbes Cloud 100 list for the fourth year is a testament to our customers’ innovative use of technology as they achieve better outcomes in efficiency, productivity, and safety.

Raising $200 million in Series E funding. When KeepTruckin raised $200 million from G2 Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Greenoaks, IVP, and other leading investors this June, it positioned the company to further expand our engineering team and continue building products that solve our customers’ biggest challenges. From the AI Dashcam created to prevent accidents, to the Fuel Hub that identifies wasteful drivers and inefficient vehicles, KeepTruckin’s technology is helping companies across multiple industries improve the safety and productivity of their operations.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. KeepTruckin has a strong commitment to DEI, and it shows in the company’s people and values. KeepTruckin believes that diversity drives innovation and helps communities adapt to rapid change. As a proud supporter of Base10 Partners’ new Advancement Initiative, the company has put those values into action.

The initiative aligns the success of technology companies with wealth creation for underrepresented minorities. It provides meaningful support to university endowments and creates student scholarships at Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country.

Fuel Hub product release. Aside from driver wages, fuel is often the largest expense for fleets, totaling up to 25 percent of a fleet’s operating costs. With the introduction of the KeepTruckin Fuel Hub, fleets have a new way to cut fuel costs and operate more efficiently. The solution provides a consolidated view of a fleet’s fuel consumption and benchmarks performance across KeepTruckin’s expansive vehicle network.
